Our Education Approaches How to teach is more important than what to teach in the practice of early childhood education.

Our Environment

Quality and Safety

We use high-grade safety, and environmental protection decorative materials. We also purchase high-quality furniture and equipment which are strong and beautiful. We use heat recovery system for children to breathe fresh air in the room at any time. It is a heat pump system from underground power that allows children to enjoy comfortable indoor temperatures in cold winters or during hot summers. Additionally, a thermostatic water system in the bathroom protects children from burning their hands. The newly designed rooftop playground allows children to have a better view while enjoying the various amusement facilities. We have a newly designed kitchen ready to provide healthy and fresh food for children. We pay close attention to every inch of the classroom, bathroom, and playground. Children’s safety is our utmost priority.

Natural Environment

Not only do we have two playgrounds, but there is a natural small forest just 60 metres away from the ELFi First School. The forest has different plants, exotic birds, insects, a variety of small animals, and different sceneries and characteristics throughout the year. It is the perfect place for children to explore the world and experience outdoor teaching.

Teaching Environment

The environment is children’s third teacher. The teaching environment for children includes not only the space and facilities, but also books, toys, teaching aid, teaching plan and daily routines. ELFi GPS curriculum creates six different modules of teaching content each year corresponding to children's nature and interests, and we will arrange our learning environment accordingly. The theme changes every two months, and our environment is designed to stimulate children's curiosity and desire for exploration. When children enter school, they will be immersed in a knowledge ocean which they will love to see, these environmental creation and teaching aid will subtly teach and guide children. They will not only be full of curiosity and engage with the beauty in art, children will also find that learning is cool and fun.

Our Teachers

Children spend more than 8 hours a day in our childcare centre with our teachers, more so than with their families. We not only pay attention to the personal quality and working ability of teachers, but also focus on the relationship between teachers and children. We attach great importance to the emotional connection between teachers and children, and employ caring, responsible, and patient teachers to give children a sense of security and belonging, so that they can feel at ease and comfortable in our centre, just like at home.

ELFi teachers should not only have the corresponding qualifications, but also meet the unique and higher standards of ELFi. ELFi teachers must have seven qualities, they are:

1)Awareness of Safety and Security

2) Respect for the Child

3) Responsibility

4) Growth Mindset

5) Creativity

6) Teamwork

7) Lifelong Learner

We will provide teachers with comprehensive training on ELFi education philosophy, professional quality, values, curriculum system, teaching methods and so on.

In our education system, a teacher is not a nanny, nor a disseminator of knowledge, but a co-learner, co-explorer, co-builder and a co-imaginer who grows up with children. In our interactive partner teaching practice, teachers will inspire children's curiosity and thirst for knowledge, motivate children's every effort and attempt. Teachers will cultivate children's ten capacities with Constructivist, Integrated and Interdisciplinary Teaching Method, Inquiry Based Learning and Project Based Learning Method.

Our Curriculum

Modern technology allows us to find any factual knowledge in a few seconds. Retelling information is no longer as important as before. What is needed in the future is interdisciplinary and comprehensive talents. ELFi's c curriculum is not academic teaching that perhaps limited children’s imagination and creativity in early childhood, nor is it aimless play. What we bring to our children is a set of comprehensive, participatory curriculum systems based on their interests. During the golden age, a child's brain works twice as fast as adults. The critical period is for the child’s personality establishment and habit formation.

We will celebrate and build on strengths while identifying areas of growth and development. The ELFi GPS Innovative education system stands as the structure to be used in positive learning environments that are conducive to learning. It consists of 3 educational purposes, 5 development areas, 46 skills indicators, 10 competency goals and 12 disciplines.

In ELFi, children will be encouraged to discover who they are, where they are in time and space, how they express themselves, how the world works, how they organize themselves and share the planet.

Our Education Approaches

We adopt Constructivist Teaching Method where children construct knowledge rather than just passively take in information. We let children experience the world and reflect upon these experiences. They build their own representations and incorporate new information into their pre-existing knowledge.

An Integrated and Interdisciplinary Teaching Method will develop children's comprehensive abilities, including hands-on skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. Prepare children for the challenges of the future.

We use Inquiry-Based Learning Method where we emphasize the student’s role in the learning process. Rather than the teacher telling students what they need to know, we stimulate the child's curiosity. Encourage them to explore the material, ask questions, and share ideas.

Project Based Learning Method make learning more fun and engaging. It is important for preschoolers ages two to five, as it helps them to see how their ideas and questions can turn into extended learning experiences. PBL supports early literacy and more academic and social-emotional skills.
